Vanguard Read to develop Global Capability Centre in Hyderabad

American investment management firm Vanguard has plans to establish its first Global Capability Centre (GCC) in Hyderabad. The aim is to formally open the centre later this year, which would serve as an integral part of the global organisation, functioning as an innovation hub that supports IT goals, drives AI strategy, unlocks the potential of data and analytics, and advances the firm's mobile-first initiatives.

    Kalpataru Projects bags order worth Rs 621 crore

Engineering and construction firm Kalpataru Projects International (KPIL) has bagged an order worth Rs. 621 crore from within India. The orders were bagged by the firm's buildings and factories (B&F) business and railway business. 

With this, the firm has a full year FY25 order inflows of over Rs 25,000 Crores.

    Kay Cee Energy & Infra Limited bags order worth over Rs 130 crore

Construction engineering firm Kay Cee Energy & Infra Limited has bagged an order worth Rs 130.48 crore from Rajasthan Rajya Vidyut Prasaran Nigam Limited (RRVPNL). The order involves the construction of a 132kV double circuit overhead line (1.5 km) and a 1.5 km underground cable, both integrated with OPGW, originating from the 132kV GSS Daizer substation.

The scope of the work covers detailed route surveys, conductor stringing, cable laying and installation, and the provision of all associated accessories.

    Kuppa Pumped Storage Project: NHPC to investment Rs 4,000 crore

Government-owned NHPC would start the investment towards the 750-MW Kuppa Pumped Storage Project in Gujarat. The firm has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Gujarat Power Corporation Limited (GPCL) in regards to the project. 

The project involves an estimated investment of Rs 4,000 crore.

    L&T bags order worth around Rs 5,000 crore

Larsen & Toubro (L&T) has bagged an order ranging from Rs 2,500 crore and Rs 5,000 crore (as per its classification) from both domestic and international markets. One of the orders is for a gas-insulated substation and a transmission line project in India.

The other order is for setting up two 380kV overhead lines in Saudi Arabia. Apart from these, the firm bagged orders from the UAE, Qatar, Oman, and further orders within India.

    Lemon Tree signs new property in Pali

Indian hospitality chain Lemon Tree Hotels has announced yet another signing, this time at Maharashtra's Pali. The property would be franchised under Lemon Tree Hotels Limited and is expected to start operations in FY-26.

The hotel will have 54  well-appointed rooms, a restaurant, a banquet hall, a bar, a swimming pool, and other public areas. The property would be well-connected by road, offering easy access to both public and private transport.

    NTPC Renewable floats tender for wind power project in Solapur

The green energy arm of thermal power major NTPC, the NTPC Renewable Energy Limited (NTPC REL), has floated a tender inviting bids for the supply and installation of 224 wind turbine generators (WTGs) for a 672 MW wind power project in Solapur, Maharashtra.

As per the tender, each turbine would have a capacity of 3 MW. The last date for bid submission is May 7, 2025.

    Manglam Group plans to develop hotels in Rajasthan, to invest Rs 1,000 crore

Real estate firm Manglam Group has plans to invest Rs 1,000 crore to expand its hospitality business in Rajasthan. The investment would be made over 5 years with plans to develop a 200-key project on Ajmer Road with an investment of INR 200 crore, a 250-key project on Delhi-Jaipur Road with an investment of INR 300 crore, and a 200-key project near Khatu Shyam Temple with an investment of INR 150 crore.

As per the firm, it has started work on its second hospitality project in Jaipur, comprising about 200 rooms.

    Tender for solar projects floated by JREDA

The Jharkhand government's body, the Jharkhand Renewable Energy Development Agency (JREDA), has floated EPC tenders inviting bids for 14 MW grid-connected and ground-mounted solar projects on government land in Palamu and East Singhbhum districts.

The last date for bid submission is April 21st, 2025. At Palamu, the project is worth Rs 929.7 crore and involves a 9 MW solar project. East Singhbhum would see the development of 5 MW projects at Rs 439.3 million.

    Holtec International to develop nuclear reactors in India

US-based Holtec International has received approval from the US Department of Energy (DoE) to develop nuclear reactors in India. The firm can share its technology with three Indian companies, namely: Holtec Asia, Tata Consulting Engineers Ltd (TCEL), and L&T.

The approval of Holtec is granted under the Civil Nuclear Agreement, signed between India and the USA nearly 2 decades ago.

  •   Bangalore Metro: BEML bags contract related to Pink line

    BEML Ltd has bagged a contract from Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Ltd. (BMRCL) for the procurement of an additional 7 train-sets of 6 coaches for the Pink Line (Reach-6) of the 73.92 km Bangalore Metro Phase 2 project. 

    The contract is worth Rs 405 crore and involves a 42-coach contract for the 21.38 km Pink Line (Kalena Agrahara – Nagawara). As per updates, the procurement is being funded by the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) with whom the Government of India signed a Rs. 3,717 crore loan agreement in March 2021.
